A mobile data terminal (MDT) is a computerized device used in public transit vehicles, taxicabs, courier vehicles, service trucks, commercial trucking fleets, to communicate with a central dispatch office. MDT is furnished with technology to provide maps and information systems regarding geographic locations and other information relevant to the tasks and actions performed by the devices they are defined to do.
